• Diner de gala de la maison Cartier

    Cartier

The French Embassy in Tokyo hosted a stately dinner for the dignitary. For the evening, a historical recipe was pulled out from the Le Quai d’Orsay archive from the dinner President Francois Mitterrand prepared to receive Japanese Emperor Akihito. Sets of Christofle silverwares and Sevres porcelain dinner services, marked with the Élysée Palace, were all shipped in from the Le Quai d’Orsay to serve the 200 guests in Tokyo. This meant that the French President was not able to use these plates and cutlery for his personal dinner for two weeks.
