Piazza San Marco
Bulgari
The Piazza San Marco in Venice was recreated in Tokyo as the stage for Venetian carnival. Two walls of the square-shaped space were entirely covered with venetian mirrors which formed a large piazza. dancers from Cirque du Soleil flew in from Montreal to start the carnival, and guests of Bulgari were seated surrounded by scenes of Palazzo Ducale, painted in trompe L’oeil. The performers wore gem-coloured costumes of emerald, sapphire and ruby and wandered between the long dining tables, telling audiences stories of medieval age Venice.
